The Neuroscience (NEUR) major is a Limited Enrollment Program (LEP). Current University of Maryland (UMD) students who would like to add NEUR as a major are required to complete a series of gateway requirements and submit an LEP application by a specified deadline.

Current UMD students may schedule an appointment with a Neuroscience advisor to learn more about the major, the LEP gateway requirements, and the LEP application process.

Please, complete the following steps to request an appointment with a Neuroscience Advisor.

1. Review the prospective student presentation below detailing the Neuroscience Major’s application process and degree requirements.

   • Note: The presentation should take no longer than 15 minutes of your time! 

2. If you would like to further discuss the Neuroscience major, after viewing the presentation please email neuradvising [at] umd.edu with your UID to request an appointment with an advisor.

   • Note: 30-minute virtual and in-person appointments are available Monday through Friday; 9am-4pm.
