Hadiya joined the University of Maryland's Neuroscience team in September 2025 as the Senior Academic Advisor. A proud Brooklyn, NY native with Caribbean roots, she holds a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice - Investigative Services from the University of New Haven (UNH). After her service with AmeriCorps, she earned a Master of Arts in Education and Human Development with a focus on Higher Education Administration from George Washington University (GWU). In addition to her time at UNH and GW, Hadiya has built a diverse career, working at institutions such as Connecticut College, Yale University, and American University (AU). The University of Maryland marks both her largest and first public university role to date. As a first-generation college student, Hadiya was inspired by her academic advisors during undergrad to pursue this career path. Hadiya is passionate about working with underrepresented groups and seeing students through to graduation. Outside of work, she enjoys baking, trying new activities, spending time with her family and her bunnies, Scotch Bonnet and Nova Tamarind.
