Haley chose to major in Neuroscience because she is fascinated by not only how the brain functions, but also how so much is yet to be discovered about it. She is intrigued by neurological disorders and how they can alter the personality of a person. Haley is excited to finally be taking courses that she is interested in, but mostly excited for the upper level interactive courses that will be smaller and more engaging than the large lectures that she is used to!
Haley currently works as an undergraduate research assistant at the Child Development Lab here at the University of Maryland under the Origins of Infant Temperament study. She has also worked as a volunteer at the CHEER Lab at the University of Maryland Medical School. She is also currently a member of the Student Health Advisory Committee at the University Health Center. Haley also was a part of the Life Science Scholars Program for her freshman and sophomore year, where she served as a peer mentor. Lastly, she volunteers for the American Red Cross for blood drives.
